V/A - 1984 The Third 2LP 1987

One of my favorite compilations is the double album by the important French label New Wave Records, who released a small series called 1984 in the Eighties with tons of international bands and every release is a direct hit in my opinion. Also Freunde, Volume 3 was pressed 1500 times and there are thirty-eight bands/songs to discover, plus a detailed booklet with lots of infos and lyrics and and and... I love such loving and detailed slabs because they not only make an impact acoustically, but also visually and I'm certainly not alone there, and on days off like these, the pleasure is doubly pleasant. The only downside is that I have to write so much and don't like to write much. I've already thought about not writing anything anymore, but I don't like that either. What a conflict hahaha... Now I'll open a beer and the subtle reference to Volume 4 (the last part) and the first two will follow... someday!

ETA - Történelmi Nazugságok 2016

💣 Weekend and we'll get a bit exotic and I haven't heard any tone from this band yet. Info: ETA, the name of the band comes from the abbreviation of the Basque terrorist organization (Basque Country and Freedom), was a Punk band founded 1980 in Budapest by Péter (vocals), Viktor (guitars), Róbert (bass), Gábor (drums) and in the beginning they played Hungarian versions of well-known classics by bands like Damned, Agent Orange or U.K. SUBS and released their first tape in 1982 also with own songs. The band was an original force in the Hungarian Punk movement in beginning of the eighties and persecuted by the cultural policy of the time, ETA was an open and total attack on the system by musical means, they couldn't do it for long and so they broke up around 1984. The banned band couldn't release any vinyl at home, but 1984 they made it on the 1984 The Second compilation on New Wave Records and 1985 a song was recorded for the Vilag Lazadoi Harcra Fel EP on Primitiv Cozak. A second tape followed in 1997 and they come back on stage again in Gödör 2010, slowly they picked up speed again and gave one or two concerts a year with ancient fan Zana Zoli on drums. From 2015 the new line-up stands with László (vocals/guitars), Róbert (bass/guitars), Tibor (drums) and Történelmi Nazugságok is the first official ETA album with twenty powerful numbers, which summarizes the band's history classics so far, but also includes new pearls... since then, it's been running, CHEERS! 💣

- Great Thx to Fredrik -

V/A - Bloodstains Across The World #3 2019

I don't know how surprised you were but when I saw this new Bloodstains compilation on ebay I didn't think long after, I gave my bid immediately & won the auction. Unfortunately not as vinyl but as lame unspectacular CD-R in an edition of 100 copies. Anyway, The tracklist is interesting and I know 40% of it whose originals can be found in the blog and the rest is fuckin' new. I would say, has become an excellent result, only drawback for the poor artwork, which is capable of development and must be better. But in the end, it is nice that someone makes the effort to keep this grandiose series alive. Enjoy!

BIKINI - Kicsinál Szódát 7'' 1983

Exotic sound from Hungary by Bikini with their debut 7inch on Start. A bit info from discogsThe band was formed in 1982 by singer Feró Nagy and guitarist József Vedres after the disband of Beatrice. Bassist Alajos Németh, his brother, drummer Gábor Németh and guitarist Gábor Szűcs Antal joined them and formed Bikini. In the first years Bikini played punk music very similar to Beatrice. Frontman and songwriter Feró Nagy saw the band as a Beatrice-afterband, even covering some of their old songs. Most of their fans were the same as of Beatrice, going to concert not because of the band but because of the "Feró Nagy Phenomenon". This formation released two albums "Hova Lett..." in 1983 and "XX. Századi Híradó" in 1984 (without Gábor). Despite all similarities, Bikini and Rice were quite different, at least, seeing them retrospectively. The "ancient" Bikini members decided to strengthen the funny, rebel, "idiotic" side of Beatrice and the new band played a much more alternative and extraordinary, dadaistic hard rock-like or new wavist music with simple, nonsense lyrics, sometimes went into clear huey, assembled from interjection expressions, child poetry, blurred distopic visions about human mind control by engineering/education, or parodistic dance music quotes. Two solid tracks, in which the title track is the better one.

V/A - 1.2.3...Start LP 1985

After seein' the WYX post over at kbdrecords I figured I might as well post something exotic. Hungary is not really known for famous punk bands and this album includes a few ones. Musically here goes it in all directions, electronic, folk, alternative, pop, wave and punk. Certainly this album hits not everyone's taste and some might even consider it boring, but first, the exotic bonus counts and secondly be open for new stuff, thirdly, of this country comes not much underground music and fourthly good music must not always be fast, loud and dirty. Overall, I mean the plate is not bad, one two are wimps but listen for yourself.
